The heart of Borehamwood was filled with laughter and warmth this weekend as families gathered for Gratitude’s Easter Event 2025—a joyful, free event made possible through the kindness of volunteers, local partners, and a whole lot of heart 💖.
With the cost of living still affecting many households, this annual celebration was a beautiful reminder that fun, connection, and community don’t have to come with a hefty price tag—especially when we come together to spread joy ✨.
Volunteers Made the Magic Happen 🙌
Preparations for Gratitude’s Easter Event 2025 began weeks in advance 🛠️, with volunteers like Angela, Sam, Shana with her girls, Keren, Dana, Barbara, Beata, Ayaan, Hashmita with girls and Zaneta pouring love and effort into every detail. Rita was doing origami and helped us all day today even with the cleaning. From sourcing tables at the last minute to setting up colourful activity stations 🎨 and a cheerful snack area 🍎, this dream team brought the event to life. A special thanks also goes to Carole and other kind-hearted helpers who braved the unpredictable weather ☔ to support the celebration.
Sweet Surprises and Generous Donations 🍫🎁
One of the many highlights of the event was the generous Easter egg donation 🐣 from Sky Studios, which brought wide smiles and chocolatey hands to excited children. Other local partners also played a part in making sure Gratitude’s Easter Event 2025 was stocked with treats and essentials—thank you for your continued support 🧡.
A magical moment arrived when the Gratitude Bunny 🐰 made a surprise appearance! Thanks to the amazing Bunny Dana and the kind donation from Aldi, over 150 Easter eggs were handed out to kids of all faiths across Borehamwood 🎁.
Over 150 Kids, One Big Heart 🐣
Gratitude’s Easter Event 2025 was a huge success, bringing joy and celebration to over 150 children and their families. From the moment the doors opened, families arrived nonstop to join the fun-filled day.
The event featured a vibrant space packed with engaging games—where every child was a winner—activity tables, a photo booth, a snack and pastry station, and plenty of toys, books, and Easter goodies. Kids enjoyed a wide range of activities including bracelet making, colouring, arts and crafts, and origami. Henna, face painting, and glitter tattoos were especially popular among both children and adults, adding an extra sparkle to the day.
The photo booth, made extra special with a visit from the Easter Bunny, became a highlight for memorable family snapshots. Story time with Pastor Rachel added a heartwarming touch to the day.
Each child left with a party bag courtesy of Yavneh College students and teachers, and a delicious Easter chocolate egg from Gratitude.
