Egg-citing Easter update from Gratitude – April 2022

Our friends at Barnet Hospital reached out to us recently and asked for support to provide children in Barnet and Chase Farm hospitals with up to 200 Easter Eggs. We were delighted with this challenge and our amazing group of volunteers got their heads together and generated ideas for this fun initiative.

We were overwhelmed with support from local shops and the community and the eggs started to pour in. We were eternally grateful for the ingenious initiative from The Venue Leisure Centre in Borehamwood. They agreed to waive their joining fees if members donated an Easter egg to Gratitude. The response was brilliant, and we received 30 eggs from the generous community who took advantage of this eggs-ceptional offer.

Additionally, we would like to thank our amazing volunteers for supporting this initiative with special mention going to Valeria, Angelique, Ronit, Shivani and the manager at Morrisons in Howard Drive. We also received a generous donation of 60 eggs from our new friend at the hub; James. Thank you for your eggs-tra-odinary generosity.

We were grateful that we were also able to give every child who visited the Gratitude’s hub on Easter Sunday with a delicious Easter egg. The children were delighted to receive their eggs from our three beautiful Easter Bunnies Beata, Alina and Mazda. The kids were eggs-cited to see the wonderful display set up in Gratitude’s Kid’s Corner and to learn how Easter is celebrated in different cultures around the world. They also showed their creativity by entering our special festive art competition.

We successfully delivered 200 eggs to the hospital in time for Easter and we received a gorgeous letter of appreciation from the nurses at Chase Farm Urgent Care Centre for their egg-stra-odinary Easter eggs shared with their grateful patients.

Once again Gratitude responding to requests from the community and engaging with our wonderful volunteers to deliver.
