On Sunday 18th December we were delighted to host a special Grocery Giveaway at the Gratitude Hub with a special VIP guest; the Worshipful, the Mayor of the Borough of Hertsmere, Cllr John Graham.
John has been a Hertsmere Councillor for Aldenham East in Radlett since 1998. He was a founder member of the Hertsmere Executive in 2001 holding the position of Finance Portfolio Holder. He relinquished his Executive role in 2021 to become Deputy Mayor. He was nominated Mayor in May 2022.
Sheila and John gave him the grand tour of the Gratitude hub and showed him the progress made with the Community Kitchen. They chatted about the projects and initiatives Gratitude are proud to be a part of, and the councillor suggested ways in which his connections with the community may serve to help Gratitude going forward.
The Mayor helped to distribute the fantastic Christmas hampers, donated by Sky Cares, to our festive community.

It was a delight for our volunteers to meet the mayor and for him to see first hand the wonderful blessings and miracles that happen at the hub which we share with the community seven days a week. We look forward to many more connections with the Mayor in the next few months. Thanks to all who helped prepare the hub for the event.
